Jeremy Scott Fall 2012

So I know its been a long time since New York Fashion week but since this is my first official post I'd like to give my thoughts on my absolute favourite from the season.

Which of course was Jeremy Scott's Fall 2012 collection.

Riddled with pop culture referances and a mix of todays grunge culture, this was by far one of the most fun shows of NYFW.

Inspired by pop culture of the 80's/90's and the internet , Scott separated himself from the rest of the designers and focussed his fashion in a new direction, which in my opinion was the right direction.
Metallic fabrics, Neon fur, contrasting stripes and colours, cartoon characters and even rainbow hair were just some of the features in the collection. It was like the love child of Rainbow Bright and Andy Warhol on LSD.

Models heads were adorned with Neon Bindi's and outrageous Gaga-esque wigs accentuating the strong 80's/90's pop culture vibe. The heavy septum chains chanelled a more now trend, giving a taste modern grunge.

Its brave collections like this that truely encompass everything that fashion is about. A designer doing their own thing, not conforming to the trends and ideas recycled by other designers. Truely inspiring and I hope to see more of this theme throughout future collections.
